We are beyond delighted to announce the brilliant Noreen Kershaw as our patron at North West End Acting School!

As an actress Noreen is best known for her T.V roles in BBC's Life on Mars; Channel 4's Brookside & Watching, Granada TV. Her work in theatre includes originated the title role of the play Shirley Valentine at the Liverpool's Everyman Theatre.

Noreen's work as a Television Director includes – BBC1’s Call the Midwife, ITV’s Coronation Street, as well as Channel 4's comedy drama, Shameless, ITV's Emmerdale and Heartbeat. She also directed Moving On, Broken & Our Girl – BBC1 and most recently directed Ridley ITV.

Noreen first saw Lucy and Francis at the Everyman theatre in Liverpool and was struck by their terrific energy, love of the craft and personalities. Following a formal meeting, they started working together on Transitions – a show created by poet and performer Owen Lowery, which was performed at the Met in Bury. Noreen described the experience of working with Lucy and Francis as a joyous one and has been keen to carry on work with theme ever since.

It was only natural for Noreen to endorse their project of starting NWEAS where she now regularly delivers talks and workshops for our students. This year she decided it was time to take it one step further and offer her patronage to the school! For which we are incredibly excited and immensely grateful to have the support of such an accomplished industry professional and wonderful human.

Below is a video of Noreen speaking about her decision to become a patron of NWEAS:

It’s not just the acting skills you get taught at North West End Acting School, it’s the living skills as well and it is all done with grace and humour
